The Government recently launched an industrial strategy green paper that sets out a plan to improve living standards and economic growth by increasing productivity and driving growth across the whole country. It details ten strategic pillars to underpin a new government approach.

Chamber leaders across the UK are committed to engaging on industrial strategy and ensuring that the growth opportunities in their areas are maximised.

Shropshire Chamber chief executive, Richard Sheehan commented, “Shropshire Chamber welcomes the new Industrial Strategy and the opportunity to contribute to the consultation. Through this collaborative approach we can ensure that real consideration is given to the success of businesses in Shropshire. Our submission must echo and support the vitality of our region which in turn will bolster the national economy. Shropshire is world leading and pioneering and we are looking forward to the visits of ministers and senior officials to our business community.”

The consultation period for the strategy is now open and the Government are seeking your views to ensure that the industrial strategy is effective in delivering an economy that works for everyone.  For more information and to respond to the consultation please visit the Industrial Strategy consultation website.
