Nic Laurens has been appointed by the Shropshire Chamber Members Committee as its new Chairman, a role which will help him ensure suggestions, feedback and opinions of Chamber Members across the region continue to be heard by the Board.

Chris Jones, Business Development Manager at Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, explained: “We’re delighted to welcome Nic as the Chairman of our Members Committee, a role which is vital for us in ensuring we continue communicating with, listening to, and learning from our Members, ultimately helping us to enhance the service we provide. Nic is an advocate for doing business locally, and shares our passion for growing our business community, so we’re certain he’ll do a great job supporting the fantastic range of companies we have across Shropshire.”

Nic Laurens is currently Managing Director of Severn Diamond Ltd, a Shropshire-based distributor of quality diamond products, machinery, blades and abrasives.

Nic commented: “Shropshire Chamber of Commerce is a wonderful asset to the businesses that are based in the county. I believe that a strong Chamber is one that works closely with, and for, its Members, and our local Chamber does this superbly. As part of my new role I’m eager to encourage Members to become part of the committee, where they will have even greater opportunities to share their suggestions, provide input to the Chamber Board and support our efforts, and in genuinely helping strengthen Shropshire’s status as a thriving place to do business.”

Over the past 12 months alone, the Chamber has held in excess of 150 events, from networking meetings and exhibitions, to seminars, fundraisers and its annual awards, and more than 800 county-based businesses are now registered as Members.

“Our long-term vision is to represent an even more diverse range of businesses in Shropshire,” Nic added. “With a whole host of Member benefits, plus the opportunity to help even more local businesses get their opinions, challenges, thoughts and suggestions across, there’s never been a better time to be a part of your Chamber.
