Business Advice on the New Telford and Wrekin Coronavirus Test and Trace Program
Dear Business Owner/Manager,
As you may have seen recently in the Media, a national Coronavirus Test & Trace program (TTP) has been established.
All positive coronavirus test results will be investigated and any recent contacts will be traced and asked to follow Government guidance. Current guidance is in this graphic.
Telford & Wrekin Council have established a local Health Protection Hub and we are contacting you to ensure that you are up to date on what that means for your business and your workforce.
How does Test & Trace impact my business?
Testing for coronavirus is now widely available to all people. Someone in your workforce may test positive for coronavirus!
The employee and any identified contacts (including those in the workplace) will be expected to follow Government guidance with regard to isolation.
Should this happen, the local Health Protection Hub is in place to support the management of safety in the workplace and to give help with guidance that can reduce the spread of the virus and the probability of business interruption.
How you can reduce the risk of coronavirus leading to business interruption?
- Be aware – keep yourself and your workforce up to date with the latest guidance on coronavirus & TTP. The guidance is designed to reduce the risk of coronavirus affecting your workplace.
- Plan ahead – Make sure your workplace risk assessment is up to date – you can find guidance at hse.gov.uk/risk/controlling-risks.htm. Your risk assessment must include your response if anyone in your workforce shows symptoms and/or tests positive for coronavirus. The latest information on symptoms can be found at www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/
- Let us know – The sooner you report any positive cases to the local Health Protection Hub, the sooner we can support your business – email us at email@example.com .
- Support your workforce – Engage your workforce in managing safety in the workplace. Social distancing measures and thorough handwashing are effective ways to stop the spread of the virus and depend on worker participation. Help them to understand how and where they can be tested if they have symptoms. Ignoring symptoms or positive test results may create a larger outbreak in the workplace AND in the community. Testing information is available at http://www.nhs.uk/coronavirus or dial 119. Look out for details on where the Telford & Wrekin permanent testing site will be.
Telford & Wrekin Council is committed to working with businesses that are experiencing coronavirus in the workplace. If after reading the attached information, you have questions about TTP please contact our Team at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Please do not hesitate to contact us and remember we are here to help!
