Martin Evans has over 34 years’ experience of leadership, communications, PR and dealing with the media. As a senior officer in the Royal Air Force he led multi-disciplinary and service/civil service teams in operational areas, on training establishments, strategy, planning and policy groups and in conflict zones. Prior to setting up TandemComms, he was a Director of Communications for a large NHS mental health and learning disabilities trust.
As a communications specialist, he has led diverse media teams in delivering outputs such as – a Royal Air Force TV documentary in Afghanistan – crisis communications (under difficult and challenging circumstances) in the military and National Health Service – proactive breakfast TV stories for charities – difficult social media interaction – challenging public and media on public consultations for significant health and social care service change – local radio health campaigns.
Martin is an experienced, highly sought-after trainer, running courses from the board to the shop floor, in presentation skills, creating impact, media skills, communications strategy development and crisis communications. He has worked with and advised at ministerial level, Chief of Air Staff, Board Chairs, CEOs, Trustees, Directors and middle leaders, to front line clinicians, Charity Workers and service user/patient groups.
