SYA’s Youth Forum were invited to attend the High Sheriff of Shropshire’s Award Ceremony this month where they received an award for their recent work in increasing intergenerational positivity and addressing issues in local public transport.

The award was presented to the group at a special event hosted by Shrewsbury Colleges Group. Many of the counties young people were recognised for their achievements and presented with their awards by the High Sheriff, Mandy Thorn MBE DL

Oswestry Youth Forum members Asher, Daniel, Charlotte, Martha, Louise, Joseph, Emily and Tilda have been supported by SYA and Oswestry Town Council in their aspirations to make the local community more positive, not only for young people but through intergenerational activities. They were nominated for their efforts by their Youth Worker, Jess Williams for the High Sheriff of Shropshire's Outstanding Young Citizen Award and had a wonderful evening at the awards ceremony. They were inspired by the stories of other inspirational young people from across the county.

Thank you to the High Sheriff for such a great opportunity and important recognition of our young people!
