The annual Women on Tap Festival started in Harrogate to encourage women to find and further explore their passion for beer in 2017. Now in its seventh year, the WOTFEST team have recruited some national partners to take the event UK-wide. Beer writer Laura Hadland of Thirst Media has taken on the mantle for Shropshire and brought together a programme of events to champion the role of women in beer and boost beer education in the county. And best of all, everyone is invited to take part in the fun.

"Beer is for everyone, but it isn't always a level playing field out there," says Laura, the award winning author of 50 Years of CAMRA. "UK brewing began as a female-led occupation, but now it can be hard for women who are interested in beer to find out more or to get established as brewers. These events are intended to show that everyone is welcome in the pub, women are valuable team players in the brewery and everyone can enjoy the amazing flavours of beers brewed by women."
