What better way to transport the hundreds of donations from Morris staff to Severn Hospice this Christmas than via Santa’s sleigh!

Samantha Haydon from Severn Hospice was delighted to take the reins from members of the Morris Property team as the sleigh was loaded with preloved and new items donated by staff across the Morris company, destined for the charity’s Relove the Preloved scheme.

Katie Morris from Morris & Company explained: “Severn Hospice is our 2023/4 company charity of the year, as voted for by our colleagues, in recognition of the vital role they play in our community. We’ve held a number of fun activities to help raise funds for the amazing work they do.

“So far this year, our fantastic team here have raised over £2,000 for the Hospice and now this sleigh holds a wonderful array of potential gifts from the practical to the curious – from picture frames, toys, jigsaws and clothes to party wigs and even cowboy hats. As such, I’m sure there is something for everyone to pop in as a stocking filler this Christmas.”

The donation is just a part of the company’s commitment to support numerous charitable and community activities across the county. During the year over £10,000 has also been donated to many other great causes from charities like Lingen Davies and the Red Cross, to undertaking school garden makeovers and raising money through charity football matches.

Samantha Haydon, Corporate Fundraiser said: “We are so grateful to the team at Morris for this bumper sleigh load of such generous donations. They will be heading to our community shops where shoppers can celebrate the spirit of Christmas by making second-hand their first choice as they sort those final gifts for family and friends.

As a charity, all our care is given free of charge and our shops bring in £1.5 million a year. It’s thanks to the support for our community and businesses like Morris & Co that we can continue to provide quality care for thousands of local people living with incurable illness.”
