The Shropshire Mental Health Support charity seeks to empower people with mental health issues. They work to improve services, raise awareness, and increase understanding of mental illness in Shropshire. Their primary goal is to ensure that persons in need of assistance are heard and supplied with the resources they require.

As we enter our 50th year of delivering free mental health care, we're inviting local companies to join us in an ambitious fundraiser to fund our new well-being vehicle, which will battle mental health and suicide prevention in Shropshire.

The charity has been operating a well-being vehicle for the past 18 months, which has helped over 1500 people in that period. The vehicle has been a critical lifeline for people suffering from poor mental health, emotional distress, or at a crisis point. With an increasing number of people requiring support, the charity is committed to offering direct assistance to those in rural areas who may not have access to other services. The charity's current vehicle is becoming unreliable, spending much time in the garage, and is no longer fit for purpose. Therefore, they plan to acquire a new vehicle that will provide critical support across the county for the next 10 years. The new vehicle will also be used to provide awareness and information to schools, where many children struggle with their mental health.

During the past 12 months, the Shropshire MHS charity has supported over 12,000 people with their mental health needs, equating to over 1,000 individuals monthly. This number is growing year on year, and the charity is proud to have averted over 700 potential suicides every year, saving invaluable lives, each with purpose and meaning. The charity believes that people with mental health support needs should not be expected to travel across the county, given the poor public transport infrastructure in the area. Therefore, the well-being vehicle is an essential service that brings help and support to those in need. The vehicle links into the charity's other services, such as its award-winning Shropshire Sanctuary, round-the-clock telephone support service, and outreach programs.
