Telford College is staging a recruitment event later this month to help fill a number of vacancies in its growing team.

It will be held at the college’s Wellington campus from 5pm to 7.30pm on Thursday April 25 with refreshments and free car parking provided.

With a new base set to open in Telford town centre’s Station Quarter this autumn (pictured) and extra learning pathways being added to the curriculum all the time, the college has a wide range of roles available.

They include lecturing positions in areas such as sociology, accounting, business, computing, English, engineering, maths, politics, health, social care and early years, plus a chance to teach on the college’s new games design programme.

There are also opportunities to join the construction and health department as assessors - and a range of other roles including specific positions at the college’s new Maths & Digital Skills Hub opening at Station Quarter.

Deputy chief executive Janet Stephens said: “These are incredibly exciting times for the college, with our new Maths & Digital Skills Hub in Station Quarter in September, and a new sixth form centre also planned on the site.

“On top of this, we have also announced ambitious plans for a £1.8 million-plus upgrade of our Wellington campus to transform it into a technical and vocational training centre of excellence.”

Lorraine Edwards, head of human resources at the college, said: “We are looking for skilled people from all trades and professions to share their knowledge and expertise, and who have an enthusiasm for helping to train the future workforce.

“No teaching qualifications are needed, and you don’t need a university degree. If you already have the required trade skill set, we will give you all the support and training you need.

“The recruitment event is an opportunity to talk to some of our college staff about the opportunities which are available in our university-standard facilities.”

She added: “We offer competitive rates, an attractive working pattern, exceptional annual leave entitlement, on-site parking, a generous health care cash plan and pension contribution scheme.

“Equally importantly, we can offer a friendly and supportive environment, and rewarding jobs working with talented students.

“We are an ambitious organisation, seeking talented like-minded individuals to join us in supporting students to the next level and into a successful career through our key links with universities and employers.”
