Can the Chamber really influence policy?
Yes, to a certain extent. Shropshire Chamber is part of network of over 50 accredited Chambers of Commerce who are recognised as the leading voice for business across UK meaning your voice is stronger when supported by BCC and combined with other businesses.
The Government consult BCC before making decisions that impact businesses. Shropshire Chamber is represented on various local boards which allows us to take the concerns of our members straight to the local decision makers.
Can I participate in the Quarterly Economic Survey if I am not a member of the Chamber?
Yes, the Quarterly Economic Survey is open to businesses of all sizes across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin, and you do not need to be a member of the Chamber to participate.
This survey is conducted nationally by the BCC and open to all businesses across the nation. We encourage all businesses to participate as the opinions are used to shape business policy in the coming years and having a wider cross section of responses allows us to represent all sectors.
Every submission is valued equally.
What benefit is the Quarterly Economic Survey?
Your responses from the QES provides Shropshire Chamber with the evidence we require when campaigning for the support that your businesses need.
The QES results are used by the Government, HM treasury and Bank of England as evidence when formulating policy decisions.
Many members use the results to give their business a competitive advantage by knowing what is happening in the region and beyond.
Do I need to be a Chamber member to access the Policy & Representation support?
No, all businesses across the region can take advantage of the support offered by the Policy and Representation department of the Chamber.
