Throughout the 2023 - 2024 academic year, Aico was thrilled to host numerous engaging and educational visits at their Oswestry Headquarters, welcoming children of all ages, from nursery to 18+.
During their visits, students participated in various informative and inspiring activities that promote fire safety awareness. These included product development workshops, creating hazard houses and the popular wiring and box challenges, where they packed their own orders. Some students spent time in Aico’s community garden, planting vegetables and getting to know the chickens, while others familiarised themselves with the various job roles within a business, gaining valuable work experience and insights into departments such as Marketing, Customer Service, Technical Support, Finance, and Warehouse Operations.
Aico supported over 3,000 children throughout the academic year, including:
- 37 school and college visits to Aico for educational workshops.
- 25 visits to schools delivering career focused activities.
- 30 students gaining valuable work experience.
Aico’s Community Liaison, Jane Pritchard, stated: “At Aico, we understand the importance of supporting education and realise the pressures that schools and colleges face, so being able to work with and support so many local young people is fantastic. We are already planning events for the new school year and looking at ways in which we can further develop our educational outreach.”
