The HAL Partners team has started a support programme for UK higher education organisations and universities regarding how artificial intelligence is changing research. Also, the programme provides students with tangible tips on leveraging AI knowledge and research tools for intern interviews and job applications.

The HAL team started a year-long activity programme with lectures and presentations at Leeds and Nottingham University Finance Societies. The team presented to hundreds of students in both Universities. These vibrant sessions generated many questions and engaging discussions about how to conduct research and some of the latest AI tools and platforms on the market—as well as ethical considerations and forward-looking views on how the future of AI copilot research will evolve.

At Leeds, the Trading and Investment Society hosted an event with a strong focus on the transformative role of AI in research. The HAL team shared insights on how AI can enhance efficiency in equity analysis, introducing students to a new AI platform called Marvin Labs, an innovative AI research analysis copilot. The team and the students explored practical applications of "common inference," a concept that structures unstructured data quickly to identify conflicts and relevant facts.

These first events have been filled with thought-provoking questions showcasing the students' eagerness to bridge academic knowledge with real-world applications.

One student at Leeds, Liam Wood, shared his view of the impact these events have perfectly:

"I enjoyed listening to James Yerkess and Alex Hoffmann talk about AI in investment management using a new AI platform called Marvin Labs. I truly gained an insight into the future of investing and AI's power to improve the efficiency of research and analysis."

At Nottingham, the event with the Economics and Finance Society (NEFS) focused more on the practical application of AI research to stand out in internship interviews. Connecting with a University Finance society dedicated to advancing members' understanding of finance was exciting. The HAL team shared with Nottingham students how AI-driven insights are reshaping financial strategies and investment decisions, sparking lively discussions on equity analysis and the future of finance.

We are looking for education partners in Shropshire and the wider region interested in opportunities to help their students learn more about AI and how research is completed.
