Having spent all my working life in Shropshire I was always keen to put something back in to the community where I had made my living so I had no hesitation in saying yes when I was asked to join the Chamber Board in 2008.

I had for eight years previous to this been active in the Chamber Networking events as Dyke Yaxley had been a Chamber member since the 1990's and a Patron since the Patronage was formed.

I became Junior Vice President in 2011 and following various changes was President from 2013- 2016 and because I had gone part time at Dyke Yaxley I was able to put time and effort in to this role and tell many others about the benefits of becoming a Chamber member.

I am still an active member of the Board and feel privileged to be so.

The training courses that the Chamber offers are always used extensively by the Dyke Yaxley Directors and staff and we still regularly attend the Breakfast Clubs and have a stand at the Chamber Expos.

The Chamber carries a powerful voice with Government and as a result can help businesses of all sizes to make the voice of Shropshire heard and carry influence in national economic affairs.
