Matt has been the Vice Principal of Shrewsbury College since May 2022 where he leads on the technical and vocational education and training supporting over 9,000 individuals with their studies, 600+ employers in developing skills, knowledge and behaviours for both the existing and future workforce. Qualified to Post Graduate level (MBA: Leadership & Management) in his academic studies, along with a degree in Marketing, Matt has over 20 years’ experience in Further Education and has held several high-profile roles specialising in the effective leadership and management of people, education and training.
Showcasing an extensive portfolio of international working; in collaboration with the British Council and other international governing bodies, Matt has worked in and with countries such as India, Vietnam, South Africa, Thailand and Saudi Arabia over a six-year period (2014-2020) specialising in leadership & management. Always wanting to develop his skills further, Matt recently completed the senior leadership programme (Preparing for CEO) at the prestigious Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.
With a proven track record of providing strong and effective leadership; Matt is most proud to have supported the achievement of two OFSTED Grade 1 (Outstanding) awards with the most recently awarded to Shrewsbury College in March 2025. Matt was proud to share with the Chamber:
