This course is aimed at raising awareness of the concept of COSHH in a workplace. This course is designed to give a greater understanding of COSHH so that people using these substances can work in a safe and effective manner. They will also understand why its important to select and use the correct PPE.
During this four-hour course, students will:
- Gain an overview of the law relating to COSHH
- Gain an understanding of the points on a material hazard data sheet
- Be shown how a SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is used along with other information to complete a COSHH risk assessment
- Gain an overview of Health Surveillance relating to COSHH
After this four-hour course, students will be able to:
- Gain an overview on the law relating to COSHH
- Identify a range of health hazards associated with COSHH substances
- Identify appropriate controls to reduce the risk of harm from COSHH substances
