UKSPF Introduction to AI - Using Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT and Google Gemini 19th March 2025

This course is designed to provide specific skills and knowledge needed to support personal career development. It is being delivered and funded by UK Government through our UKSPF Shropshire Skills Hub Project.

This course covers the following:

•       Review the role of AI and the key areas of impact; how can AI help you to become more productive in your professional and personal life.

•       What are the key points for people to consider where AI may be beneficial to them?

•       What are AI platforms ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Apple Intelligence?

•       What are the main features of Microsoft Copilot?

•       What free options are available with ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot?

•       Review the upgrade options and costs of ChatGPT Plus, Google Gemini Advanced and Microsoft Copilot Pro for individuals and 365 for business.

Complete practical activities using the FREE versions of ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot; you will use:

 - ChatGPT to obtain information, use Logo Creator and Write for me.
 - Google Gemini to ask questions, request tasks and use images. Export information to documents/email.
 - Microsoft Copilot chat to ask questions, request tasks and create images. 
 - Copilot compose as a writing assistant that you can edit, copy and export to a document or email.
 - Copilot notebook to create the outline of a business agenda.
 - Copilot Pro in Word to create a range of documents and reports from scratch.  Learn how to make changes to suggestions that Copilot creates.  Learn how to apply formatting to documents to enhance their appearance and use Copilot to create images that can be inserted into documents.
 - Copilot Pro in PowerPoint to create the overall content of professional presentations from your simple outline suggestions.  Learn how to make changes to a range of slide layouts and insert AI generated images onto slides.  Learn how to structure the overall layout of a presentation to meet the needs of    the audience.
 - Use Copilot Pro in an Excel spreadsheet to automatically create basic formula calculations on existing data.  Add a new column with a formula calculation.  Use Copilot to automatically apply formatting to cells and ways of reviewing data on a worksheet, and you will:
 - Review and discuss the benefits of using Microsoft Copilot Pro AI which is embedded within the individual Office 365 software.
