Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a weekend of colour, creativity and community spirit as Wellington Open Gardens returns in 2026, proudly supported by Specsavers Wellington.
Taking place across one special weekend, the event will see beautiful private gardens in and around Wellington open their gates to the public. From peaceful green corners and imaginative planting to hidden courtyards and vibrant borders, each garden offers something unique and inspiring.
This much‑loved community event raises essential funds for Community Resource, a Shropshire charity committed to helping people and communities facing challenges across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. With support from Love Wellington, the weekend brings garden lovers, neighbours and visitors together to celebrate everything that makes Wellington a vibrant and welcoming place to live.
Sally Themans of Love Wellington said:
“The 4th annual Open Gardens weekend is a true celebration of Wellington. By opening gates and sharing green spaces, we weave the whole community together; from seasoned horticulturists to curious neighbours and local businesses all of whom take pride in our town. This weekend is a blooming testament to why Wellington is such a special place to live, grow, and visit."
Wellington Open Gardens gives attendees the chance to explore spaces not usually open to the public while supporting a charity that helps people stay connected, independent and well. Whether you enjoy gardening, fresh air, creative ideas or simply discovering new places on your doorstep, there is something for everyone.
Event sponsors Specsavers Wellington are delighted to be supporting this year’s event:
“Wellington Specsavers are delighted to support this year’s Wellington Open Gardens event. Just as caring for your eyes and ears helps you appreciate the world more clearly, events like this helps us all enjoy the true beauty of our community. It’s a pleasure to celebrate local people, local spaces and the joy and creativity they bring.”
