• Creating Inclusive and Healthy Workplaces in Telford and Wrekin 9th September 2026

    Connect and Succeed

Event Date: 9th September 2026
Event Time: 9:30am to 2:00pm
We are inviting employers to come together at a time of significant change in employment policy and workforce expectations. With new legislation already impacting areas such as sick pay and employee rights, and growing evidence that healthy, active, inclusive workplaces drive productivity and resilience, there is so much to reflect on.
This event offers a practical opportunity to get ahead of change, shape local solutions and influence how we can continue to improve workplaces across Telford and Wrekin. The day will be participative and workshop-based, building on the findings from our recent employer survey and from ongoing work across the borough. It will provide a space for employers to explore what matters most to them, share challenges and insight and help shape practical solutions that work in real settings.

While the event is designed to support employers to strengthen their own practices, it is also part of a wider, shared ambition: to create lasting system change across Telford and Wrekin. This includes working alongside community organisations, public sector partners and people with lived experience to improve opportunities, access and improved health outcomes for people seeking employment and sustainable work.

The session will focus on two key areas:
  • Inclusive recruitment and workplace practices
  • Healthy and active workplaces supporting the health of people of working age

Through a mix of shared insight and interactive workshops, we will work together to shape:

  • Practical actions employers can take within their own organisations
  • Collective priorities for system change that better support employers and the local workforce
  • Opportunities to collaborate with the community and public sector to shape change

Further details on the agenda and sessions will be shared nearer the time, but we anticipate a collaborative and action-focused day.
