We recently met with new member Source from Shrewsbury, creative specialists who thrive on building brands. New to the Chamber, we were interested to find out why they have become Members and what this could bring to their business.
Directors Nick and Paula completed a management buy out two years ago, and were clear on their objective of developing Source as a leading Brand Agency.
Many businesses don’t give enough attention to their branding or recognise the importance and role this plays in the success of their business. As Nick says, “it isn’t just a logo, it’s everything, values, the colours, tone of voice, how you make your customers feel”.
Since the takeover, they have worked to put strong foundations, structures and policies in place, that as Paula states “have allowed us to put our own mark on the business and make improvements for the team, client sand local community”.
After all the changes they had made to their business, they felt that now this was the perfect time to join the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce. When we asked what they felt the Chamber could give them, they were clear on the networking opportunities. As Nick said, “For us just to be around other local businesses is really important. Being aware of what’s out there, and making connections.”
As a small business with a team of 12, they are particularly keen to engage with the business support that Membership offers, including legal and HR advice. They are also looking forward to making use of the wide range of training courses that the Chamber offers for their team, as an investment in their future development.
They were attracted to the all-round offering. It’s not just about networking, but the Chamber is a trusted point of reference within Shropshire.
As they are busy working hard to build the brands of their clients, they need to carve out time to market themselves. So, it is important for Nick and Paula to be a part of something. The Chamber therefore seemed a natural home for this. As Nick states, “we have chosen the Chamber for awareness, letting people know we are here and to be a part of the Shropshire business scene”.
Source recently completed a project with one of the Chamber’s valued Patrons, Shrewsbury College, working on their re-branding. As both were students at the College in the past, it was great for Nick and Paula to have the opportunity to engage with the College and its stakeholders and to work on a project close to their hearts.
As Source start their Chamber journey, Paula says: “We are looking forward to starting our journey and getting involved in Chamber activities to build meaningful connections that will help Source as we evolve and grow in the future.”
Sometimes joining the Chamber is about timing, and this is the right time for Source.
