OTTO, the new digital services from Busch Vacuum Solutions, continuously monitor the vacuum pumps of Busch customers, thus avoiding downtime in production. For this innovation, Busch Vacuum Solutions has now been honoured with the Food Processing Award 2022 in the category smart/digital technology at the UK’s leading food and beverage engineering forum “Appetite for Engineering”.
“This is a wonderful recognition of how Busch has been serving the food industry with innovative vacuum solutions for over 50 years. We are committed to helping our customers reduce downtime, save energy and reduce carbon footprint, and our OTTO digital services are helping us to do that right now across an increasing number of manufacturing and food processing sites in the UK,” comments Tim Hulbert, General Manager of Busch UK.
“Appetite for Engineering” offers UK food and beverage industry leaders the opportunity to exchange ideas and find out about new, cutting-edge solutions to production problems. The food processing award recognizes companies and individuals for engineering excellence and innovation within the UK food and beverage manufacturing sector.
The jury stated about OTTO: “BUSCH – OTTO digital services help food and beverage manufacturers to reduce their production downtime and remove vacuum pump maintenance from their workload.”
OTTO, the digital service innovation from Busch, combines condition monitoring of vacuum pumps with vacuum service packages. At an early stage, OTTO detects whether a problem could occur. This leads to optimum process reliability and thus higher productivity. Unplanned downtime and the associated risks and costs are avoided. The data that OTTO collects is sent to the Busch Cloud, where it is analyzed. In an intuitive dashboard, the status of all connected vacuum pumps is displayed. It can be accessed via a PC or mobile in the Busch vacuum app. Already installed Busch vacuum pumps can also be retrofitted with the Busch IoT kit as part of an OTTO package.
