INTune Radio - Shropshire’s new community radio station – is joining forces with Cancer Research UK to take a leading role at this year’s Race for Life.

INTune will compere the annual event – one of the highlights of the Shrewsbury summer season – in the Quarry on Sunday, June 18.

Race for Life, which is partnered by Standard Life, brings together thousands of runners to raise cash for life-saving research, with the 5k race open to all abilities.

INTune founder Wayne Flynn said: “This is the 30th anniversary of the event – and it’s a real coup for INTune to be playing such a big part on the day. We’ll be compering the event, have exclusive access for interviews and putting together a special show to be broadcast soon. Look out for us in the bandstand area of The Quarry.

“Everyone there on June 18 will also be able to learn more about INTune Radio.  This includes opportunities for local businesses to become a supporter, win a free advert for their business, learn more about volunteering and get on the radio to tell your story.

“It all fits perfectly with our philosophy of helping communities come together to do good and celebrating the fantastic stories of people from all over Shropshire – something we’ll be doing more and more of throughout the year.”
