We’ve certainly hit the ground running here at Telford College in 2024, launching new study programmes, forging important partnerships - and being shortlisted for several awards too.

This is going to be a very exciting year for us as we prepare to open our new digital and maths skills hub at Telford’s ‘Station Quarter’ which is rapidly taking shape in the heart of the town centre.

This unique alliance between industry and education will raise aspirations, shape our future workforce, and contribute to the economic success of the area.

Our curriculum will equip people for careers in sectors such as cybersecurity, AI and robotics, virtual and augmented reality, cloud computing, wireless technologies, 5G innovation, and much more.

So that’s a really exciting development for later in the year – but there is also lots going on right now too.

For example, a new series of bite-sized taster programmes is up and running at our employability hub in Tan Bank to help adults into employment across a wide range of sectors.

They are designed to tackle issues such as CV writing, improving interview skills, completing application forms, and general job-seeking support.

There are also specialist programmes in areas such as bookkeeping, children and young people’s mental health, and more. You can find out more by emailing This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

If you prefer to study at home, we also now offer a huge range of distance learning adult programmes too, giving you the ultimate flexibility. You’ll find all the details on our website,

Our first open event of the year is coming up soon at the Wellington campus, from 5pm to 7.30pm on January 31.

This is a perfect opportunity to get a flavour of life on campus, meet our students and staff, and learn about our full-time part-time study options, plus A levels, T-Levels, apprenticeships and adult programmes.

You can also pay a visit to our new Retrofit Skills Lab which has been kitted out with battery storage units, solar power systems and electric car charging points to bring tradespeople up to date with the latest solar and battery power technology, electric vehicle charging and industry regulations.

The world of work is constantly changing, and we have to change with it. Skills is the buzzword for 2024 – it’s all about upskilling, innovating, careers development, and seizing some of the exciting opportunities in store over the coming months.
