Aico was thrilled to host a number of educational visits at their headquarters in Oswestry throughout May.

The Meadows Primary School visited Aico to reward the school term’s Top House Point Achievers. During the enrichment day, the children watched a short film in the auditorium and enjoyed time in the Community Garden.

Our Lady & St Oswald’s Catholic Primary School, and Adderley and Moreton Say Primary School also visited on the 7th of May for educational workshops. Students learned about fire safety at home and created their own hazard houses.

North Shropshire College and Shrewsbury College came to Aico to participate in some hands-on workshops. They delved into the various job roles within a business, from Marketing and Sales to Technical Support, Finance and Warehouse Operations.

As part of their ‘Aico in the Community’ programme, Aico continue to show support towards local and national charities. Aico’s Community Awards took place this April, in support of The Electrical Industries Charity. The event raised a grand total of £16,620 for the charity, which will go towards supporting those in the electrical industry.

Also in May, a number of Aico colleagues assisted local charity Little Stars, in organising their stock room and pricing items for their first shop opening, which took place at Shrewsbury’s Darwin Centre.

Soon to follow was the Better Society Awards, which saw Aico and Little Stars take home the Partnership with a Local Charity award. Jane Pritchard, Community Liaison for Aico, commented, “Aico and Little Stars were over the moon to be winners of the Partnership with a Local Charity Award at The National Better Society Awards 2024. It is a pleasure working with Leanne Simcoe and her team. We are proud to support the great work Little stars is doing for families within our community.”

To top the month off, Aico colleagues raised money for the Shropshire Youth Association through an afternoon of fun team activities, raising £360 for the charity.
