EFAFLEX UK, the industry leader in high-speed industrial doors, is proud to celebrate a significant milestone: 2025 marks 25 years of innovation, reliability, and unmatched performance in the UK market.

Since 2000, EFAFLEX UK Limited has firmly established itself as the premium industrial high-speed door manufacturer of choice across sectors including cleanroom, parking, warehouse, and logistics. From early installations in the UK, Ricoh was one of the first near EFAFLEX’s facility in Telford, Shropshire. Testament to EFAFLEX’s commitment to quality and performance is that Ricoh was not only their first customer, but their longest serving customer with the most amount of repeat orders.

Darren Turrell, Managing Director for the UK comments, ‘Reaching 25 years is a proud achievement. During that time, we have seen many changes regarding innovation, design and advancements in technology, but what has always been at our core since EFAFLEX started in Germany back in 1974, is sustainability. Industry sectors of course have their own nuances, and priorities, such as air purity within food production, or insulation in the case of deep freeze environments. But there are common threads that weave through all our customer’s needs, and that’s performance, durability, smooth flow and speed of logistics, minimising costly downtimes, reducing energy costs, and protecting staff against the risk of accidents. We tick all those boxes and more in every one of our door designs!’

EFAFLEX are renowned for their product innovation, in fact they coined the phrase ‘high-speed doors’ back in the 1970’s shortly after which their spiral door opening design was invented. Turrell continued, ‘Many have imitated our spiral design, but not surpassed it in terms of its combined quality, speed, and durability. We always encourage our customers to ‘buy once and buy well.’ What may look a cost-effective upfront price to purchase a door, then needs to factor in the energy saving costs, the service intervals, and life span of the product.  We have a door in operation that’s completed many millions of cycles and others we visit that have been in circulation for over 20 years. Now that, for me, is sustainability!’

And what of the future? What’s next in the world of high-speed doors? EFAFLEX, true to their innovation roots have just launched their Next Generation of doors, which builds on a common door frame design with a choice of door blades depending on the customer needs. The Next Generation EFAFLEX doors are better, stronger, and capable of up to 400,000 operating cycles per year, further lengthening the period between service visits to reduce cost and downtime.

EFAFLEX’s client loyalty is clear to see, with installations as far north as Peterhead and south to St Austell. Many household names including Audi, Budweiser, NCP, rely on and trust EFAFLEX high-speed doors, such as companies that ensure food and drink are supplied fresh daily.

Turrell talks of the future, ‘EFAFLEX Germany celebrated 50 years last year. We have some catching up to achieve that, but we are in our strongest position ever, with a well-established team across all functions that ensure an exceptional customer experience from their first point of contact with us, through to the ongoing service and maintenance. Every door is made to order. Tailored to that exact setting. We thrive on a challenge and of course delivering exactly what each client needs for their individual environment.’ He concludes ‘You could say ‘The future is bright; the future is orange’ he says with a wink.

EFAFLEX will be touring the UK in September, taking their mobile demonstration trailer to various locations.
