Helen Pugh Named BBC Make A Difference Awards Finalist for Fundraising Efforts Supporting Local Charity Bethphage
Business Support Specialist Helen Pugh, founder of Helen Pugh - Business Solutions, has been named a finalist in the Fundraiser category of the BBC Radio Make A Difference Awards 2025, in recognition of her outstanding efforts raising funds for Shropshire-based charity Bethphage.
Bethphage supports adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independent, fulfilling lives. Helen’s fundraising campaign combined physical activity and community engagement, and heartfelt advocacy to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity’s work.
One of the most meaningful aspects of Helen’s fundraising campaign was completing a physical challenge – 35 Miles for Bethphage. For someone living with chronic illness and disability, this was no small feat. The challenge symbolised both personal resilience and the uphill battles faced by many in the disabled community. Helen’s determination to take on the challenge, despite physical limitations, inspired supporters and brought powerful visibility to the realities of fundraising with disabilities.
“I’m honoured to be recognised for supporting a cause so close to my heart,” Helen said. “Bethphage does incredible work empowering people with learning disabilities, and I’m proud to have played a part in helping them continue that mission.”
Helen’s nomination reflects her broader commitment to inclusion and empowerment. Through Helen Pugh Business Solutions, she delivers strategic continuity and operational support to small businesses, while actively championing disability awareness and inclusive hiring. She is also the founder of Ablepreneurs™, an initiative dedicated to uplifting disabled professionals and entrepreneurs by fostering visibility, opportunity, and meaningful change across the business landscape.
The BBC Make A Difference Awards ceremony will take place on 26th September 2025 celebrating individuals who have made a meaningful impact through compassion, innovation, and community spirit.
