Shropshire Business magazine has been shortlisted for the prestigious Midlands Magazine of the Year title.
The publication’s editor Carl Jones is also in the running for the Midlands Business Journalist of the Year award.
Both are among four finalists in their category, for the awards night which will be held in Birmingham on November 14.
Organisers received almost 250 entries for the awards, which have been “in hibernation” for the past six years due to the pandemic in 2020.
The qualification period for entries ran from summer 2024 to summer 2025 – a period which saw not only the magazine’s landmark 50th issue, but also the publication of a special edition to mark the 25th anniversary of the Shropshire Business Awards.
Llewela Bailey, chairman of Birmingham Press Club, which is organising the event, said: “The Awards are being revived for the first time since the outbreak of Covid and we are delighted to have had such a positive response.”
Shropshire Business magazine's sister publication, Birmingham Business, has also been shortlisted in the magazine of the year category.
Carl Jones said: "Winning the Midlands Magazine of the Year title back in 2018 was an incredibly proud moment for the Shropshire Business team.
"We are honoured to have been shortlisted once again in the face of such tough competition, as we prepare to enter our 10th anniversary year."
