Morris Property marked the topping out of two projects at Concord College in Shropshire in time for Christmas. The team are currently constructing a new 60-bed boarding residence and sports hall which will build on the College’s existing facilities.
This significant investment is designed to enhance the student experience, providing new living and high-performance sports facilities to meet the College's growing academic and residential needs.
The traditional ceremony, which signifies that the building's structure has reached its highest point, was attended by key members of the client team from Concord College, along with project associates. Celebrating with a spread of breakfast pastries, representatives joined the Morris Property team to recognise the progress achieved on the site.
The client team included Michael Truss, Principal of Concord College, Matthew Hodge, Bursar, and Sarah Darrall, Estates Manager. They were joined by Colin Stanford, Chair to the Board of Trustees, and Kevin Merris, Associate Director at AtkinsRéalis, who is overseeing the project.
Expressing his satisfaction with the work, Michael Truss, Principal of Concord College, said:
“We’re delighted with the progress that Morris Property has made on site. The new facilities are taking shape impressively, and we look forward to welcoming students into the new developments next academic year.”
Glyn O’Hara, Senior Contracts Manager at Morris Property, praised the collaborative effort of the site team and the partners involved.
“This topping out ceremony is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in the project. Working alongside Concord College and the design team has been a positive experience, and we are proud to be delivering this high-quality facility.”
The project will now move into the internal fit-out phase as it progresses towards completion ahead of the 2026 academic year.
