Pave Aways Building Contractors is very proud to present the cheque for a record-breaking total of £15,675  for the local Lingen Davies Cancer Support, the company's Charity of the Year for 2025.

What began as a series of wild ideas grew into a planned programme of fundraising events, spread throughout the year and designed to raise funds for fantastic local cancer support programmes, in addition to also regularly bringing our teams together from each site and increasing all-important cancer awareness through health campaigns.

Just a few highlights from the year included sponsoring three colour stations at Lingen Davies’ annual ColourFest, a vibrant day full of colourful powder paint (it really does get everywhere!) across the fun-run sites in Shrewsbury, Telford, and Caersws simultaneously.

Pave-Aways' very own Wrekin Relay saw our teams pushing themselves all day from dawn to dusk, eventually completing 52 journeys up to the summit, covering over 152 miles in total!

The Charity Ball was the main fundraising event of the year, which was supported by so many in the Shropshire business community, with so many generous auction prizes from our supply chain partners that Carl Jones expertly marketed on the evening.

All the funds raised will go directly towards local cancer support services and the newly launched Sunflower Appeal to raise funds for a new Lingen Davies Cancer Centre in Telford. This project will deliver additional services to those already running in the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, helping individuals and families at times when care and compassion matter most.

Pave Aways Managing Director Steven Owen said:

“It’s incredible to see the impact our team and supply chain partners have had in supporting Lingen Davies this year. I was honoured to attend the launch of their new Sunflower Appeal at Westminster, which will create a Chemotherapy Centre at Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital by 2029. Raising this record-breaking total is a testament to the commitment of everyone involved, and we’re proud to support such an important local resource.”

Pave Aways is especially grateful to the amazing Lingen Davies fundraising team, whose awareness sessions throughout the year helped our staff understand the real difference their work makes. A special thank you also goes to our own site manager Andy Pagett, who courageously shared his own first-hand experience of the charity’s support, helping everyone see the true, human impact behind the fundraising.
