More than 80 learners are set to descend on In-Comm Training’s Technical Academy in Telford later this week (February 21st) in a bid to find out more about vocational learning.

The specialist provider of engineering and manufacturing apprenticeships is throwing open its doors for the first time this year, with young people and their parents able to explore its world class facility, talk to tutors and current apprentices and, importantly, meet local employers looking to recruit.

Over £3m of technology - spanning CNC machines, metrology equipment, 3D printing and a dedicated automaton line – is used in the apprenticeship pathway, making In-Comm Training apprentices better prepared for the world of work.

Peter Robinson, Business Development Adviser at In-Comm Training, said: “Our Open Days are always a highlight of the calendar as our technical academy in Telford is where the magic happens and so many fantastic careers start.

“We’ve already got 80 learners signed up to attend on Saturday February 21st, but we still have spaces left for more individuals and their parents to come along. They will get a first-hand insight into the pathways that will help them progress in careers with world class companies working in aerospace, automotive, defence, and progressive technologies that are shaping the world.

“There’s nothing like seeing the machinery and equipment up close and we’ll also have our In-Comm ambassadors on hand to give a ‘warts and all’ view on what vocational learning is like for them.

The In-Comm Open Day takes places from 10am to 2pm on Saturday February 21st at its Technical Academy on T54, just a few minutes from Junction 4 of the M54.

Eight employers will be present and looking to recruit, including Bolt King, Epwin Group, Safran and VA Technology.
