Three guest speakers have been lined up for the latest brain injury networking forum hosted by Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler.

The event takes place on April 23 at The Cavalier Centre in Much Wenlock, which provides a range of activities with horses to help people with disabilities and other challenges.

Guest speakers on the day will be Hayley Jay from The Cavalier Centre, along with Anthony Jackson and Jacob Youngson from Shropshire-based Healthsec Rehab.

The networking forums run by Lanyon Bowdler offer the opportunity for professionals working in the field of brain injury and other interested parties to come together, exchange views and share their expertise.

Dawn Humphries, head of Lanyon Bowdler’s personal injury team, said: “These events are always well-attended and provide an interesting forum for discussion about the issues facing those who have suffered a brain injury.

“We hold these networking events regularly at various venues and invite a variety of specialists along to give short presentations. The latest event will take place at The Cavalier Centre in Much Wenlock on Thursday, April 23, between 10am and noon.

“People are welcome to bring along friends or colleagues, and anyone interested is advised to book now as places are limited.

“There will be three speakers from two organisations on the day. Hayley Jay will tell us about the work of The Cavalier Centre, an inclusive equestrian centre that uses horses and supportive indoor and outdoor environments to help people living with disabilities, mental health challenges and social isolation.

“Through accessible riding and equine-assisted activities, the centre builds confidence, connection, and wellbeing for individuals and families across the

community.

“Our other speakers are Anthony Jackson and Jacob Youngson from Healthsec Rehab, a rehabilitation service for adults and children specialising in home and clinic-based community neurological rehabilitation for individuals with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and complex neurological conditions.

“Rehabilitation is focused on independence, participation, and real-world outcomes.

The holistic person-centred approach considers the individual’s physical, emotional,

and social environment, actively involving the family group and wider support network to gain meaningful and sustainable progress.”
