Shropshire Chamber members recently joined forces and returned to The Corbet School where they had previously studied.
Shingler Group spent an inspiring and engaging day at The Corbet School, where the team spoke with Year 9 students about career opportunities within the construction industry and the pathways offered through the company’s Apprenticeship Programme.
Former pupils Jeremy Shingler and Holly Tarbuck returned to their old school alongside colleague Matthew Cadwallader to deliver a series of presentations to five classes throughout the day. The sessions highlighted the versatility of the construction sector, the diverse range of roles available, and the rewarding routes young people can take as they begin to explore future careers.
As part of the event the students also heard from another former pupil, Adrian Davies of St. James’s Place, who delivered an informative session on careers in finance and provided students with an understanding of how financial services support a broad range of industries.
Shingler Group expressed sincere thanks to The Corbet School for the warm welcome and for the opportunity to speak directly with students at such a formative stage in their decision making. The team was delighted to reconnect with the school community and to share real world insight into how careers in construction and finance can develop.
The day proved both positive and energising, and Shingler Group hopes that the conversations and presentations helped to spark interest and enthusiasm among students who may be considering a future in the construction industry.
