Community Resource is delighted to announce that this year's Wellington Open Gardens event raised more than £2,500 to support individuals and communities across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

The much-loved annual event welcomed visitors from across the area to explore a variety of beautiful gardens while helping to raise funds for local services and community support.

Every day, Community Resource works alongside people facing real challenges, including loneliness and isolation, rising living costs, health concerns and the ongoing pressures faced by community groups and services. Funds raised through Wellington Open Gardens will help the charity continue providing practical support, information and opportunities for people to stay connected and independent.

Visitors were full of praise for both the gardens and the community spirit of the event.

One attendee said:

"Love Open Gardens, so inspiring."

Another shared:

"Thank you so much for organising such a lovely event. I had a fantastic time and am looking forward to the next one."

A further visitor commented:

"Absolutely loved wandering around these beautiful gardens."

Hanna Clarke, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Community Resource, said:

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who supported Wellington Open Gardens this year. Whether you visited a garden, volunteered, made a donation or helped behind the scenes, you played a part in raising an amazing £2,500 for local people and communities.

"Events like this demonstrate the power of community. Not only do they bring people together, but they also help ensure we can continue supporting those who need us most across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

"It was wonderful to hear such positive feedback from visitors and to see so many people enjoying the gardens, meeting new people and supporting a good cause."

Community Resource would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful gardeners who generously opened their gardens to the public and shared their time, enthusiasm and expertise.

The charity is also grateful for the support of Love Wellington and Wellington Town Council, whose involvement helped make the event such a success.

Community Resource would also like to thank event sponsors Specsavers Wellington, The Cock Hotel and Amenity Choice for their support and commitment to strengthening local communities.

Plans are already underway for next year's event, and the charity would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved, either by opening a garden or volunteering.
