Eaton Manor near Church Stretton is highlighting its Poetry Trail as a unique opportunity for charities and community groups looking to host memorable fundraising events in a beautiful countryside setting.
The trail winds through the estate's grounds beneath Wenlock Edge, combining nature with carefully chosen poetry to create a peaceful and engaging experience. Usually reserved for guests staying at Eaton Manor, it was recently opened to visitors during our Open Gardens event, where it proved a popular feature of the day.
Held as part of Gardens Open Shropshire, the event welcomed a steady flow of visitors and raised more than £2,500 for local causes. Many guests took the opportunity to explore the Poetry Trail, discovering a new way to enjoy the landscape while engaging with literature in a relaxed outdoor setting.
Following the success of the event, Eaton Manor is encouraging charities and community organisations to make use of its facilities for fundraising activities. The setting is ideal for charity walks, wellbeing events, literary gatherings, family fun days and community events, all within 500 acres of stunning Shropshire countryside.
To support local charities, Eaton Manor is offering free venue hire for charity fundraising events in 2026 through the Shropshire Chamber's Member 2 Member Offer. The offer includes use of the Events Venue, featuring two large rooms seating up to 120 guests, access to the Secret Garden, and use of the Poetry Trail and surrounding grounds.
By opening up the Poetry Trail and event facilities to a wider audience, Eaton Manor hopes to help local organisations create meaningful, enjoyable and successful fundraising events.
Charities interested in hosting an event are invited to view the Member 2 Member Offer on the Shropshire Chamber website or contact Abi at Eaton Manor by emailing
