A brand-new dedicated space for recording, editing and producing podcasts has opened at Meeting Point House in Telford, offering community groups, charities and small businesses a professional space to create high-quality audio content and share their stories with the world.
Now available for hire, the facility is designed to support local organisations of all sizes, providing accessible, industry-standard equipment in the heart of Southwater, Telford.
To support the launch and demonstrate how easy it is to set up your own podcast, Wayne Jenson, CEO of Meeting Point House launched Meeting Point Matters. A podcast featuring inspiring conversations with the people, making a difference across Telford and beyond.
He said: “As a complete novice I was surprised at how easy it was to set up our own podcast. Meeting Point Matters showcases local charities, social enterprises, volunteers, community champions and residents with powerful stories to share. Guests get a chance to communicate their experiences, lessons learned, and practical insights that can inspire action in everyday life.”
UK podcast listenership has achieved record-breaking momentum, with the monthly audience climbing to an estimated 15.5 million regular listeners by 2025. This surge reflects a highly engaged market where over half of the UK adult population now actively consumes podcasts every single month.
The studio has been developed as a competitively priced, inclusive resource to help community organisations, local businesses, artists, and young people produce professional-quality content. From storytelling to business marketing, from sharing local knowledge to celebrating achievements, the studio provides an accessible gateway into digital media production at an affordable price.
Wayne continued. “By lowering barriers to entry, the facility aims to empower voices that are often underrepresented and enable local talent to develop skills in audio production, broadcasting, and digital storytelling. By amplifying local voices, the studio will play a vital role in showcasing Telford’s stories, talent and ambitions.
Keith Osmund-Smith, Chairman of Meeting Point House, said: “We are pleased to see the studio at Meeting Point House come to fruition. Wayne has been instrumental in driving and refocusing how we are perceived, as a charity, a community hub and a business, and this is yet another way of connecting people and supporting organisations.”
The podcast studio is now open for bookings. Users will benefit from optional training on how to use the high-quality recording equipment, a purpose-built acoustic environment, and flexible hire options tailored to a range of needs and budgets.
The initiative also supports the wider efforts to strengthen Telford’s cultural identity, connecting people, places and ideas through digital storytelling.
