A new fundraising event from Community Resource will bring together women from across Shropshire to connect, share experiences and celebrate the positive difference being made across the county. 

Ladies Who Lunch for Good takes place at The Wroxeter Hotel on Friday 2 October, combining networking, inspiration and fundraising in support of Community Resource's work across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin. 

For more than 60 years, Community Resource has worked alongside people, volunteers and local organisations to help communities thrive. Its services support people facing challenges such as isolation, rising living costs and barriers to wellbeing, while helping strengthen the networks that keep communities connected. 
 
In the last year alone, the charity supported more than 7,400 people, helped residents save more than £27,000 through its community oil buying scheme and provided more than 1,500 hearing loss hub appointments.

The event has been created to celebrate the women who are making a difference across Shropshire while supporting Community Resource's work in local communities. 

Hanna Clarke, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Community Resource, said: "Through this event, we'll be raising funds for Community Resource while bringing together inspiring women from across Shropshire to connect, share ideas and celebrate the difference being made in our communities." 

An inspiring local success story 

Guests will hear from Deborah Mitchell, founder and CEO of Heaven Skincare, whose journey has seen her grow a business founded in Shropshire into an internationally recognised skincare brand. 

More than 30 years ago, Deborah founded Heaven Skincare after developing her own skincare solution. Today, the company holds a Royal Warrant and Deborah has been Queen Camilla's facialist for more than 20 years. 

Despite the company's international success, Heaven Skincare's head office and product development remain based in Shropshire. 

At Ladies Who Lunch for Good, Deborah will share her experiences as a woman in business, reflect on the growth of Heaven Skincare and discuss her decision to keep the business rooted in the county where it began. 

Deborah said: "I'm absolutely delighted to have been invited to speak. I spend much of my time working and travelling around the world for my business, and while it's incredibly rewarding, it can also be quite a lonely journey. That's why I truly value the opportunity to spend the day with such an inspiring community of accomplished, like-minded women. I'm looking forward not only to sharing my experiences but also to connecting with everyone in the room." 

More than a networking event 

The event will be hosted by Amy Bould, Community Resource Trustee and Managing Director of Be Bold Media. 

Alongside an inspiring talk from Deborah Mitchell, guests will enjoy a reception drink, a two-course lunch, tea and coffee, a prize draw and a guest pack. The afternoon has been designed to create opportunities for meaningful conversations and new connections while raising funds for local communities. 

Community Resource has also announced The HR Dept Shropshire as headline sponsor for the event.

Ladies Who Lunch for Good takes place at The Wroxeter Hotel on Friday 2 October from 12pm to 3pm.
