Shropshire Oktoberfest returns to Shrewsbury’s Quarry on October 2nd and 3rd, 2026.

There will be a variety of local brewers and drinks producers lining the huge marquees, live bands performing throughout, plus oompah, street food, a silent disco, carpool karaoke, and a Saturday comedy club.

The event takes place in huge marquees and tipis at the bottom of the park, providing cover for most of the festival. Shropshire Oktoberfest has taken place annually since 2017, and is affectionately named ‘Shropshire’s biggest party.’ Beth Heath, Director of Fun at Shropshire Festivals, said, “The festival offers the perfect vibe for a brilliant night out – whether you’re there with mates to dress up in Lederhosen, eat street food and dance the night away, or you want to sit down with old friends and sample some fantastic local beers, this is the date you need in your diary.”

Shropshire Oktoberfest puts a local spin on the Oktoberfest format, bringing in local brewers, distillers and drinks producers to serve their beers, ciders, cocktails, wines and spirits directly to customers. There is a live music stage, silent disco tent, Aion’s carpool karaoke, a Saturday comedy club, a marquee with long Oktoberfest-style seating, and a VIP Area with premium toilets and a view of the live music stage.

Businesses are encouraged to get involved with the event. Beth said, “Amongst the celebrations there are some real opportunities for businesses to raise their profile. We have sponsorship options that will put your brand in front of thousands of eyes, and one remaining private party area where you can hold a VIP party for clients or your team to celebrate your successes.

“Thank you to Aion, Monks Estate Agents, Paycare, Cartwrights Waste Disposal, Special Cider Company, Dulson Training, Christie & Co, Shropshire Chamber, WR Partners, and Barti Rum for already offering your support to this event through sponsorship – your support is invaluable to sustain our events.”

Bands booked in for the live music stage so far include Two Blank Pages, Monsdale, Hot Rox, Something 4 The Weekend duo, The Dirty Rockin Scoundrels, Wild Candy, Audio Thieves, Ego Friendly, and Skaburst. Beth said there is one particular band she is excited to see play: “After a few years away from our live music stages, we’re excited to have secured the hilarious Asparagus & The Kilburn Habit for a Saturday afternoon slot – they are perfect for our Oktoberfest audience!”

Saturday’s comedy lineup has been revealed. Preston’s funnyman Tony Vino is returning as MC, joined by Daliso Chaponda – Britain’s Got Talent Finalist and Golden Buzzer winner; Mandy Muden – BGT semi-finalist, comedy magician and entertainer; Duncan Oakley - award-winning musical comedian and one-man band; Christian Reilly - award-winning musical comedian and global headliner; Jo Enright - award-winning comedian and acclaimed TV actress who’s worked with Ricky Gervais and Peter Kay; and James Dowdeswell - award-winning comedian, beer expert and author of The Pub Manifesto: A Comedian Stands Up For Pubs.

Beth adds, “Get your tickets booked to the biggest party of the year, and don’t forget your costumes – there will be prizes for the best dressed!”

Shropshire Oktoberfest is taking place in Shrewsbury’s Quarry on Friday, October 2nd from 5pm - 10pm and on Saturday, October 3rd, from 12pm - 10pm.
