Shrewsbury College is celebrating exceptional results across its AAT Accountancy and Bookkeeping programmes, with students consistently outperforming national averages at Levels 2, 3 and 4.

The outstanding achievements highlight the crucial role professional qualifications play in developing the skilled finance workforce that businesses across Shropshire need to thrive.

Students studying AAT qualifications at the College achieved pass rates above UK averages across the majority of modules, with particularly strong performances at Levels 3 and 4. Level 4 learners, many of whom are progressing into senior accounting and finance roles, exceeded national pass rates in every assessed unit, while Level 3 students achieved significantly higher success rates in key areas including Financial Accounting and Tax Processes for Business.

The College also saw impressive high-grade achievement. At Level 3, 25% of learners achieved distinctions, compared with a national average of 14%, while more than half achieved merits. Level 2 learners secured a distinction rate of 41%, considerably higher than the UK average of 24%.

These results reflect the growing demand for professional upskilling within the region, with many learners balancing their studies alongside employment and using their qualifications to progress within their organisations.
