New Podcast from Madeleys Chartered Surveyors:

“The Farmer, The Surveyor And The Land”

Shropshire Chamber member Madeleys Chartered Surveyors, the Much Wenlock-based rural practice, has launched a new podcast exploring rural life across Shropshire and the wider region: The Farmer, The Surveyor And The Land.

Hosted by Daisy Whiteman, a local farmer's daughter, and Marketing apprentice at Madeleys, the podcast turns the spotlight on a role many people know little about, the rural chartered surveyor, and, in the show's own words, looks at “rural life, the people, the land and what affects them.” Each episode aims to explain what really goes on behind the scenes of the rural economy, from farming and land management to tenancy, diversification and the environment.

In the first full episode, What Does A Rural Surveyor Do?, Daisy talks to Paul Madeley MRAC MRICS about the breadth of work a rural chartered surveyor takes on, supporting farmers, landowners and tenants with grants, valuations, planning, diversification, tenancy matters and succession planning. The conversation also covers the impact of this year's drought on farming in Shropshire, and previews next month's episode on agri-environment schemes.
