A successful monthly networking event for the construction industry will return to Shrewsbury next month – with a promise to go from strength to strength for the remainder of the year.

The Shropshire Constructing Excellence social, held at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury, will build on the success it enjoyed since its launch earlier this year when it returns on September 17.

The event is hosted by Shropshire Constructing Excellence (SCE) and sponsored by Shrewsbury-based MKM.

SCE vice-chair Tim Lloyd said the free event played an important role in bringing the construction sector together

“These events have really struck a chord with people across the industry. They’re friendly, informal and genuinely useful – a chance to catch up, share ideas and build relationships without any pressure or forced introductions.”

Tim said September’s event – which gets under way at 5pm – would include welcome drinks and canapes for people who book in advance.

“We’re hugely grateful to MKM Shrewsbury for their support which helps us keep the event free and welcoming for everyone. It’s great to have a local supplier backing the construction community in this way.”

The networking socials will continue throughout the year on the third Thursday of each month at The Loopy Shrew, with organisers now seeking sponsors for October and beyond.

Tim, the owner of quantity surveyors CQS Solutions, added: “Construction is built on relationships. The more we can bring people together, the stronger the sector becomes and the more we can do to support growth in this region. We’re excited to keep the momentum going through the rest of the year and hope to grow the group as word continues to spread.”
