People have the opportunity to attend a free business networking event in peace and tranquillity in October.
The networking morning will be hosted by law firm Lanyon Bowdler on October 15 at Horatio’s Garden - a restorative garden which brings calm, connection and beauty to people after the devastation of a spinal injury at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital’s Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries.
It will be a rare opportunity to see the beautiful and expertly-designed garden which makes an extraordinary difference to people during long stays in hospital.
Networking runs for two hours from 8.30am and anyone interested in attending should sign up now as places will be limited.
Dawn Humphries, head of the personal injury team at Lanyon Bowdler, said: “We are always keen to bring people together to meet, chat and make new friends while also renewing old acquaintances.
“Lanyon Bowdler is a corporate friend of Horatio’s Garden, and the firm has raised funds for the project over the years, so I am really looking forward to spending some time in the garden to see how it provides support to patients.
“Drinks and pastries will be provided and the morning will include a 20-minute tour of this transformative garden, which improves the lives of people with life-changing spinal injuries from across the region and is expertly cared for by the Horatio’s Garden team.
“Attendees will have the chance to explore and ask head gardener Alex plenty of questions. Being October, we are also likely to see one final push from the amazing roses in both scent and colours, alongside late summer flowers like dahlias and salvias.
“Networking is an extremely important activity and one we are always keen to
promote. Our Horatio’s Garden event will be particularly special due to the peaceful setting - a welcome change from the normal surroundings that usually host such occasions.
“The garden was designed by landscape architect, author and panellist on
Gardeners’ Question Time, Bunny Guinness, and acts as a wonderful source of comfort and relaxation for patients in the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries.”
