Thermal insulation specialist Seymour Manufacturing International (SMI) has signed a two-year deal with AFC Telford United to sponsor its under-15 academy team.

The company, based at Stafford Park, will have its logo on the team’s new away shirts as part of an agreement which will also see SMI feature on the club’s social media platforms.

“We’re keen to give back to the local community whenever we can, and are very proud to be able to support these young football stars,” said SMI managing director Jill Seymour.

“We know finances are difficult for people at the moment, but our ethos has always been to support causes where we believe we can change people’s situations and help make things easier.

“For us, this latest partnership is about making a positive impact on the young people in our area, helping to give them opportunities to flourish. We look forward to a successful two seasons together."

Stuart Fletcher, manager of the under 15 academy side, said: “I want to thank Jill Seymour and the team at SMI for this most generous donation, which really means a lot to us.

“Grass-roots football is hard at times, and raising the money to survive can be a real challenge, so support like this makes a massive difference.”

AFC Telford United’s under 15 academy team has made a great start to the season in the Midland Junior Premier League, kicking off with a 2-0 victory against local rivals Shrewsbury Town FC.

Stuart said: “If our players look good, they feel good too, and it makes them play better. We pride ourselves on not just teaching these youngsters to be good footballers, but to be good human beings too.”
