Shropshire-based recruitment business Marshall Harmony is preparing to head to Blackpool next month after being named a finalist in the Best Business category at the 2026 Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAs).
The awards, which take place at Blackpool Winter Gardens on Friday 2 October, celebrate the achievements of women in business from across the UK.
For Marshall Harmony Founder and Managing Director Laura Davies and Operations Director Ellie Tapper, reaching the final comes during a significant year for the business.
Based near Ironbridge, Marshall Harmony specialises in recruitment across the manufacturing and engineering sectors, working with businesses across Shropshire, the West Midlands and nationally.
The team has grown considerably over the past year, alongside the continued development of Marshall Harmony Executive, its executive search division. But Laura says growth has never been about becoming the biggest recruitment business.
She said: “We’ve always wanted to build a business that does recruitment properly. We know our clients, we know our candidates and we care about what happens after somebody starts a job.
“To be recognised in the Best Business category means a lot because it isn't simply recognition of me or Ellie. It reflects what our whole team has built and the trust our clients and candidates continue to put in us.”
Supporting the wider business and local community remains an important part of Marshall Harmony's approach. The business regularly supports initiatives celebrating women in industry and business, while also developing its charitable work with Acorns Children's Hospice.
Laura is also involved in this year's Enterprise Vision Awards as a judge, supporting the Not For Profit and Health & Beauty categories.
She added: “The EVAs are always a special event because you are surrounded by women who have built businesses, taken risks, overcome challenges and created something they really believe in.
“This year feels slightly surreal because we're going as finalists ourselves, while I'm also getting to hear the stories of women in two completely different categories as a judge.
“Ellie and I are incredibly proud to be representing Marshall Harmony and Shropshire. Now we just need to get to Blackpool and enjoy the night!”
The Enterprise Vision Awards take place at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, on Friday 2 October 2026.
