Family-run wine merchant Tanners has been crowned Medium Retailer of the Year at the 2026 International Wine Challenge (IWC) Industry Awards, held at London’s Guildhall.

The award recognises the individuality and character of Tanners’ branches across Shropshire and The Marches, following strong competition from independent retailers nationwide.

Judges praised the “individuality shown in each of their stores,” highlighting Tanners as “progressive as well as traditional, customer-driven and community-focused.”
