Rachel from Rachel Kili Physiotherapy recently joined the team at PCB Solicitors LLP in Telford to support their cognitive and physical health.

Thank you to Ryan Bickham for the invitation to share a range of simple, sustainable strategies that can be incorporated into the working day, while remaining seated at a desk.

The session explored:

  • Postures that can help reduce physical strain
  • Simple movements to prevent the body from becoming stiff and tight
  • Breathing techniques to help reduce fatigue and tension
  • The evidence and benefits behind these approaches
  • Practical ways to incorporate them into the day without disrupting productivity

Rachel highlighted that intention is not always enough to take care of your body and brain at work. Without a practical system to implement that intention, the chances of it happening are low. Easy and practical mechanisms were discussed that did not distract or take time away from work.

The session included plenty of questions and discussion, creating an opportunity for the team to relate what was shared to their own working environment. The feedback was that there was a real interest in how small changes can be so beneficial to physical wellbeing and the ability to concentrate throughout the working day.

Rachel regularly delivers in house practical and interactive workplace sessions. These are specifically designed to fit around an organisation’s busy working environment.
