At T-T Pumps, delivering exceptional service starts with investing in our people. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical expertise across every area of the business. To achieve this, we place a strong focus on continuous training, regular competency assessments, and professional development, ensuring our teams remain up to date with the latest industry regulations, technologies, and best practices. This ongoing commitment allows us to provide our customers with the confidence that every project is supported by knowledgeable, capable, and highly trained professionals

Recently, all of our Service and Projects Engineers travelled from locations across the UK to attend a dedicated training and certification programme at our headquarters. Bringing the entire team together under one roof allowed us not only to update vital qualifications and certifications, but also to strengthen relationships, share knowledge and reinforce the company culture that makes T-T what it is today.

Many organisations view training as a box-ticking exercise. At T-T, we see it as an opportunity.

Every engineer brings a different set of experiences from the projects and sites they work on throughout the year. By bringing the whole team together at our headquarters, we create an environment where knowledge can be shared openly between colleagues, helping everyone learn from real-world situations and challenges. The day provides an opportunity for engineers to discuss technical developments, share lessons learned, and build stronger working relationships with colleagues they may not see regularly due to working across different regions of the country.

Just as importantly, it reinforces the sense of being part of one team. The stronger our internal relationships become, the better we collaborate. The better we collaborate, the more effectively we can support our customers.

Training Delivered by Experts, In-House

One of the advantages of having highly skilled specialist engineers within T-T is our ability to deliver significant portions of our training programme internally.

Rather than relying entirely on external providers, we utilise the knowledge and expertise already within our business. Our senior engineers and technical specialists are fully equipped to provide practical, real-world training based on the challenges our teams encounter every day in the field. This approach allows the training to be highly relevant, tailored to our customers' requirements, and focused on situations our engineers are most likely to encounter on site. The result is a team that is not only certified but genuinely competent and confident.

LOLER Inspections: Protecting People and Equipment

LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) training ensures our engineers understand how to inspect, maintain, and safely use lifting equipment. By keeping this certification up to date, we help reduce risks, prevent incidents, and ensure lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Occupational Health: Looking After Our People

Our occupational health assessments help ensure engineers remain fit, healthy, and able to work safely in demanding industrial environments. Regular reviews support employee wellbeing while ensuring our customers receive support from fully capable and prepared professionals.

COSHH: Managing Workplace Risks

COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) training helps our engineers identify potential hazards, assess risks, and follow safe working practices when handling potentially harmful substances. Maintaining COSHH awareness is essential for protecting our teams, customers, and workplaces.

Advanced Valve Training and Actuator Commissioning

As valve and actuator specialists, ongoing technical development is vital. Led by our in-house experts, this practical training focused on valve operation, actuator configuration, trip torque settings, limit switch adjustments, fault finding, and commissioning techniques. The hands-on sessions give our engineers the confidence to diagnose issues quickly and provide more effective support on site.

Why Continuous Training Matters

Industry standards evolve, technology advances and customer expectations continue to grow. That's why we view training as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off requirement. By regularly updating certifications and technical knowledge, we ensure our engineers remain safe, skilled, and prepared to deliver the high-quality service our customers expect. Every qualification renewed strengthens our ability to provide reliable, professional support across every project.

Building for the Future

The recent training programme was about much more than certifications and assessments. It was about bringing together talented professionals from across the UK, sharing knowledge, strengthening relationships, and reinforcing our commitment to continuous improvement.

At T-T, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance safety, improve quality, increase efficiency, and future-proof our business and the services we provide.

By investing in our people, we invest in our customers.
