As Menopause Awareness Month begins this October, Telford-based NOURISH Holistic Wellbeing is responding to growing demand from local employers for workplace menopause awareness training and support to help employees navigate menopause and equip managers with the confidence and skills to navigate menopause in the workplace.
More organisations are recognising that menopause is not just a personal health matter that can affect someone’s wellbeing but that it is also a workplace matter that can impact attendance, performance, productivity, engagement and retention.
The training is available to organisations of all sizes. It provides a greater understanding of menopause and its symptoms, explores the potential impact on employees at work, and offers practical strategies for managers and teams to provide meaningful support. By increasing awareness and fostering open conversations, businesses can help employees continue to thrive during this significant life stage.
Colleen Mullarkey, Founder of NOURISH Holistic Wellbeing, said:
“1 in 10 women have left work due to menopause symptoms (NHS, 2024) and 31% of women reported reduced productivity due to their symptoms. Menopause can significantly affect an individual's wellbeing and work life, yet many employees still struggle in silence and managers are uncertain of how to best support. Marking Menopause Awareness Month with Menopause Awareness Training is a great way for organisations to start meaningful conversations and ensure managers have the knowledge and confidence to support their teams. When employees feel understood and supported, everyone benefits, including the business."
