Community Resource’s Ladies who Lunch for Good raises more than £1,600 to support local people and communities
More than 70 women from across Shropshire came together at The Wroxeter Hotel on Friday 2 October for Community Resource's Ladies who Lunch for Good fundraising event, raising more than £1,600 to support the charity's work across the county.
The event was generously sponsored by The HR Dept Shropshire, WR Partners and It’s Beautiful Magazine, helping to bring together local businesses, community leaders and supporters for an afternoon of networking, inspiration and fundraising. The event was hosted by Amy Bould, Community Resource Trustee and founder of Be Bold Media, who welcomed guests and guided the afternoon's programme.
Guests were delighted to hear from Deborah Mitchell, founder of Heaven Skincare, who shared her inspiring business journey and reflected on the importance of keeping her successful business rooted in Shropshire. Deborah spoke about the challenges she has overcome, the opportunities she has embraced and her commitment to supporting the local economy and community.
" It was a real pleasure to speak at such a wonderful event, surrounded by so many highly acclaimed and inspiring women from across the county. Community Resource does incredible work supporting so many different communities across Shropshire, and as someone who is proud to call Shropshire home, I felt truly honoured to play a small part in helping raise funds and awareness for the fantastic work they do.”

The funds raised through the event will support Community Resource's work helping people and communities across Shropshire overcome challenges and hardship. The charity provides practical support and services that help people stay independent, connected and well, including support for older people, carers, people living with sensory loss and community organisations across Shropshire.
Niamh Kelly, Director at The HR Dept Shropshire, headline sponsor of the event, said:
"The HR Dept Shropshire were proud to support Ladies who Lunch for Good because it brings together two causes that matter to us: championing women in business and supporting the invaluable work Community Resource does within our local communities."
Jo Tracey of WR Partners, a sponsor of the event, said:
“WR Partners was delighted to sponsor the lunch in support of Community Resource Shropshire. As a business with strong local connections, we were pleased to support such a worthwhile charity that does such fantastic work across the county. The lunch was a fantastic occasion, providing an opportunity to enjoy good company, celebrate the difference being made locally, and raise valuable funds for Community Resource.”
The event highlighted the power of local people and businesses coming together to support a shared cause. The funds raised will help Community Resource continue providing practical support to people when they need it most while strengthening communities across Shropshire.
