A Shropshire woman has launched her recruitment business with a mission to keep talented people in the county, while encouraging more professionals to discover Shropshire as a “fantastic place to live and work”.
Paige Warren is the founder of Wildflower Recruitment, based on Stafford Park 4, and is proud to unveil her new branding and website as part of the launch.
But Paige, aged 24, is no stranger to the recruitment world as she had worked at Total Recruitment Solutions (TRS) since she left school and acquired the business and took over the client portfolio when the owners retired from the industry. She has since decided to re-brand the business so it reflects her values and passion for Shropshire.
Specialising in transport and industrial, office and skilled and technical sectors, Paige has worked with hundreds of employers and candidates from across all of the industries during her career.
Paige, who has recently joined the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and Newport Chamber of Commerce and many other networking events, said she was “thoroughly enjoying” running her own business and was overwhelmed with the positive support and guidance she had already received from the business community.
“It’s been wonderful to meet so many fantastic business owners in recent weeks, all of whom share the same passion for Shropshire as I do.
“My business is very much rooted in real relationships and what I like to describe as ‘thoughtful recruitment grounded in local knowledge’.
“People buy from people, people work with people and people recruit people so therefore the person - whether that be the employer or a candidate - is at the heart of everything we do at Wildflower Recruitment,” Paige said.
“We hear of AI interviews, people being ignored after applications or interviews and people being recruited into the wrong jobs for them and that is not fair.
“The process is everything and talking to both sides is paramount to ensure success for all. Communication is so important in the workplace and that communication needs to be part of the recruitment process too.
“We know how many fantastic employers and opportunities there are here in the county so we want to work to keep our current and future workforce here in Shropshire, whilst also attracting new workers too.”
Paige, who runs her business from The Business Development Centre, said she had witnessed many workplace cultural changes during her career, especially during the pandemic.
“We focus on getting to know both the candidates and the employers we work with - it’s more than the candidate's qualifications - it’s about their skills, their ambitions and their lifestyle and for the employers - it’s about their culture, their expectations and finding the right person for the right job,” she said.
“We are seeing career changes at all ages of working life too - people may want to slow down, want less pressure or actually want to start building their career later in life after possibly dedicating their earlier years to bringing up their families or changing their choice of career later down the line. Every situation is different and that’s what makes recruitment so exciting and rewarding.”
