What a fantastic evening for iconsys at the 2026 Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Apprenticeship Awards!

We were delighted to attend the awards at the Mercure Telford Centre Hotel and to sponsor the Mentor of the Year Award, one of two new categories introduced for 2026. This important award recognises the people who give their time, experience and encouragement to help apprentices develop and succeed. 

Congratulations to Ryan Donegani from Housing Plus Group, who was announced as the category’s first-ever winner. The standard across all the awards was fantastic this year. Organisers reported a record number of entries, with the judges facing a particularly difficult task in selecting the finalists and winners.

We were also incredibly proud to be named Medium Employer of the Year. This award recognises the commitment iconsys has made to apprenticeships and to creating meaningful opportunities for people to learn, develop their skills and build long-term careers with us. It also reflects the support provided by managers, mentors and colleagues across the business who help our apprentices to grow in confidence and apply their learning in a real working environment. We faced very strong competition from fellow finalists ABC Day Nursery of Telford and Shingler Group of Myddle, making the achievement even more special.

Joining us at the awards were Rosie Beswick and her partner David from the Shropshire Chamber, together with Edwin Derry and Stacey Middleton. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the contribution apprentices, employers, training providers and mentors are making across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.
