Visitors to a popular Shropshire farm attraction will be able to snuggle guinea pigs, stroke quail and even pet a pony this October Half Term week.

Frankly Farm Tours has opened bookings for families to visit the farm during October Half Term week.

Visitors will be able to enjoy a walk around the quaint and rustic farmyard to get up close and personal with over 50 animals. These include alpacas, llamas, pygmy goats, shetland ponies, the smallest sheep breed in the world, other rare sheep breeds, dexter cattle - the smallest cows in Europe and highland cows. Also available to see are a range of smaller animals in a brand new Small Animal Barn, as well as geese, ducks and chickens.

But thanks to growing demand from visitors for more animal interaction, families will also be able to purchase an Activity Pass which allows them snuggle guinea pigs, pet quail, meet a bearded dragon and even pet a pony.

Children will also be able to enjoy a range of craft activities and enjoy playing in the farm’s outdoor play areas. Those visiting on Saturday 31st October will also be able to enjoy two sessions of Halloween Fun including an interactive story session, hands-on crafts and an action-packed Halloween hunt around the farm.

John Franklin-Hackett, co-owner of Frankly Farm Tours, said “Visitors have told us that they are looking for an interactive and wholesome day out that they can enjoy as a family or group during Half Term. That’s why we’ve introduced more options for visitors to get hands-on, giving them the opportunity to experience things they may not have done before.

We want visitors to experience amazing animal encounters and create lasting memories with us this Half Term”

The farm’s small size and enclosed layout centred around a traditional courtyard have helped to make it popular with young families, due to its easy navigation and lack of long, tiring walks.

The farm offers free parking, animal feed will be available to purchase and the Farmyard Café will be offering a range of hot and cold drinks and snacks. These include the farm’s highly praised barista-quality coffee from Shrewsbury-based Iron & Fire Coffee and favourites such as sausage rolls, pizza slices and home made cakes.
